We do more than simply putting food on the table. We are building up a community around the table, with and for our vulnerable neighbors who often feel isolated and alone. As a community member once said after a dinner, “The food was great and all, but what’s really great is that we know you care.”
Clay Street Table is the dramatic expansion of the meals program and food pantry at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Parish. The combined program, formerly known as St. Stephen’s Table, shares the parish’s mission “to feed those who are hungry in body and in spirit.”
In 2015, we will provide more than 100,000 meals of food and groceries to youth and adults in our downtown community. Equally important is how we serve. We value the dignity of all who come, treating our neighbors and friends from the street in ways that are affirming, respectful, nonjudgmental and supportive.
Special thanks to Lorey Christensen of Outlandia for making it possible for us to host this lovely fundraiser here.
ALL proceeds of “Outlanimals” merchandise goes directly to supporting Clay Street Table. (Clarence the Mule is particularly smitten with his own image in The OUTLANIMALS design by illustrator/author Colleen Madden!)
